In celebration of Won Hundred’s 20th anniversary, we are proud to unveil a limited-edition t-shirt in collaboration with Copenhagen artist Anna Degnbol. Renowned for her ethereal style that seamlessly blends magic and realism, Degnbol’s art offers an escape into the enchanted, exploring themes of dreams, nature, identity, and longing. We talked to Anna about this special collaboration:
WH: Magic, fairytales, and the surreal are recurring themes in your work. Could you share what these elements represent for you?
ANNA: I’ve always had a fascination with supernatural elements and alternative worlds. I was obsessed with comics growing up (Elfquest, Thorgal, Moebius etc.), so my love for other worlds probably started there. Myths, tales, alternative ways of understanding the perceivable open up the world and our understanding of it. All those elements are like portals - promises of something more and something bigger.
WH: Another significant influence of yours is fashion. Could you elaborate on what fashion means to you and how you integrate it into your work?
ANNA: I love everything from historical garments, contemporary runway looks and costume design for cinema and theater. To me fashion can also serve as a portal into parallel universes. Both my characters on paper and the people I look at in the streets are transported into worlds and moods with the garments they choose to wear.
WH: For the Anniversary tee, The Won Hundred logo has been reimagined as a dynamic portrayal of intertwining, twisted tree branches. What significance does this reinterpretation hold for you? How do you think your style harmonizes with Won Hundred’s ?
ANNA: I had fun interpreting the brand identity of Won Hundred and landed on this expression, which has both punk and thorny elements and softer, more organic notes. I wanted it to feel like a mix between a metal band t-shirt and the title of an old fairy tale book in a contemporary and elegant way.
