Support Your Local Heroes: The Denim Interlude

The legacy of Danish furniture design is world renowned. Progressive ideals have fostered a new generation of designers, who continuously strive to move and evolve the boundaries of the proud design tradition.

For a new collaboration affiliated with “Support Your Local Heroes”, we teamed up with Copenhagen-based designer, Chris L. Halstrøm – who designed a modern daybed for Common Seating called the ‘Interlude’, which have already received a lot of recognition. As a tribute to our all-time favourite fabric, we came together for a limited edition of the popular daybed, upholstered in upcycled denim fabric.

The project hopes to cast light on an upcoming furniture designer, who represents a new generation of designers, who seem less bound by traditions and with an open-minded and playful approach to design – we tried to capture this feeling in the photo series below. It features Creative Director and Founder, Nikolaj Nielsen with his two sons at his home in Frederiksberg.
